Folders in My Apps
-
pretty self explanatory. im a bad tagger, and have lots of apps!
my need to organise everything into folders is itchy! -
Personally I am also not a big tagger so to speak. I kinda like the idea, however somehow I feel this is more of a personal choice on how the dashboard app grid looks like, while currently visibility of apps is determined by the access the admin gave to the user. The app folder seems like a user specific way to organize this. Not sure how this currently fits into the way the app grid is perceived in single vs multiuser Cloudrons.

Since the release of app links and app proxys, I use the dashboard to link all related services and even shortcuts to manuals and forms. Since there is no way of oranizing outside of domains or groups (which are more about access), I would welcome some sort of ability to collect links/apps into folders. They could help admins to simplify the user experience since users do not remember specific app names like Freescout or Element, but they remember "Tickets" or "Chat" and they know what to expect in a folder called "Office" or "Knowledge". The feature to label apps helped a lot! Having the opportunity to now structure those into folders would be the cherry on top since it makes the use of filters obsolete and tbh since they are hidden behind 3 clicks, nobody uses them anyways.
However, from a user perspective it could be very confusing as you now have to deal with domains, groups and folders over which you have no control. Also added permissions or new apps can be very easily overlooked if they are "hidden" in a folder when the user is given access. Some sort of indicator would be nice in this case.
