WordPress Migrate Feedback, SMTP Mailer Instructions
-
I am in the midst of migrating a WP site to my Cloudron install.
The All-in-One WP Migration Plugin should definitely be removed from the docs https://docs.cloudron.io/guides/migrate-wordpress/ -- every single option other than file upload/download (max of 50MB) is a $70-$100 plugin fee.
I used the second recommendation, UpDraftsPlus. I set up a Digital Ocean Spaces bucket (which is where I also backup my Cloudron too -- but setup new bucket for this WP site) and backed up the site, selecting all the options.
I installed it on the WP Developer app locally in Cloudron, using a "new" subdomain (old subdomain is "blog").
Once the UpDrafts site backup completed to DO Spaces, I was able to set it up with the same credentials pointing at DO Spaces, and download / restore the files.
Worked great. But! It overwrote the existing plugins. I did a test install of WP Dev to Cloudron so I could look at the developer settings -- AuthLDAP (if you have Cloudron user login enabled), Redis Object Cache, and SMTP Mailer are the plugins installed by Cloudron.
Request: please document that these plugins are used, I couldn't find this by searching the docs
When I installed Redis Object Cache -- it seemed to be grabbing the settings from somewhere and it's all green.
SMTP Mailer settings were blank. I tried to look at settings from another plugin, but it seems to want an email password. Request: where can I get this from?

FYI, that max can be increased by editing the php.ini file as per https://docs.cloudron.io/apps/wordpress-developer/#file-upload-size
I recently did one that was over 1GB.

@jdaviescoates this isn't a server restriction. This is a restriction in the All-in-One WP plugin. You need to pay 60EU if you want to deal with migrations >50MB.
UpdraftsPlus worked fine and also means I now have an offsite, wordpress-specific backup as well as the regular cloudron backup.

All-in-One WP plugin
If you mean the "All-in-One WP Migration" by ServMask then you are simply incorrect. I just checked with one of my sites - backed up and downloaded a 200MB backup. I've used this same plugin to move all kinds of WP sites.
Now, I do see that if you go to their website, servmask.com, then yes, they do offer paid upgrades. BUT, within the wordpress plugin directory you can install their plugin and there doesn't seem to be a size restriction. I say "seem" because, like the other posted said, I've downloaded, then uploaded and restored, absolutely huge WP sites.
Are we talking about the same plugin?:
If you want the paid features, then it actually seems like a great deal - $69 for a bunch of cool options that so far I haven't needed. The pay-once-use-on-as-many-sites-as-you-want feature is pretty generous.
You should give it another try. Install from within your WP site (not from the company site), activate it, smile.

Like @scooke says, if we're talking about the same plugin, it isn't. As I said, I recently did one over 1GB.
