    Hi there,
    should that:
    27a3f44c-6e3a-45af-826d-e33120326dfc-image.png

also be useful for Azure Active Directory? Did someone succeed with that? I looked through the forum and the docs, but found no answer. If thats intended to work that way, I will further investigate. If you have some useful hints and links, I'm happy to read them 😉

I don't think we have explicitly tested this with Azure AD. Did you hit any roadblocks or errors?

Actually I never did it before. I don't find the required information for the Active Directory fields. ChatGPT tells me, that the required fields, like Base DN don't match with Azure AD: "Azure AD does not use a traditional LDAP-style Base DN. Instead, you work with REST API endpoints."

Also its told to run via OAuth2.0 and therefore Bind DN/Username and Bind Password will not be applicable either.

I learnt that Azure Active Directory and Active Directory - despite the similar name - are completely different in Design.

"Yes, there is a significant difference between using Active Directory (AD) and Azure Active Directory (Azure AD). Both are identity and access management services, but they are designed for different environments and have distinct features."

There seems to be Azure and other third party solutions...
A direct integration seems not to be possible.

Would have loved to reuse our Microsoft Cloud Authentication and User Directory 😉

If those just share the name mostly, then I guess you have to find some solution which does the mapping as such from Azure to LDAP/AD compatible formats.

Entra ID/Azure AD does offer Azure AD Domain Services, which is a managed Active Directory DS install that would offer LDAP/S with a flattened forest structure of whatever is in your Azure AD directory.

Great info @jodiecunningham - do you have more information? Is this an included service in Microsoft365 Azure or cost extra? I did find some services, that are very expensive for a small sized company - and I wasn't sure if that where the right ones.
