Blot.im is a blogging platform with no interface but just folders and files in your computer that blot render as a webpage. Simple plain text magic. I love this kind of stuff.

I've been looking at this project for a while and I just realized they open sourced their code. On words of his developer:

I recommend waiting until I write a guide before attempting to run Blot on your own server. Eventually I will refactor the code such that Blot can be installed quickly and simply. I will write the neccessary documentation and sell Blot at a reasonable price to self-hosters, with an option to pay more for support.

When you create an Application Wish thread, it helps gain support if you mention the licence, whether there is a Docker image and post some screenshots.

Blot might work well with OnionShare for websites.

Sure. I didn't mention any of that because as the developer said, probably it's not on the stage for being implemented right away. Such as happened with Outline for ages.

In any event, there is no docker image whatsoever and the code uses a CC Zero v1.0 Universal

I'm surprised there is not a lot of traction for implementing something as Blot. I've been following this project for a while and it's really cool to me. Also this is a really active project FWIW.

          Beware it's a 4.4G (!) repo

@chetbaker This looks like something simple enough that can be installed in the LAMP app, mainly because you need to have the Apache config for the 3 services. Otherwise it may have worked in Surfer (or 3 Surfers).

Is it big from a git clone? There may be a reason the developer suggests using --depth 1

Give it a shot with LAMP!

            I'll help if I can.

exactly. Apparently the rest of the repo is just for managing users, etc.

I tried this morning to run the docker compose in a ubuntu machine using the documentation but I failed. I will try again.
