    I believe my cpu (i5-13400f) support AVXnot sure what I've done wrong any help would be lovely as I'm not very experienced in this haha

      You need to make sure the VM layer is not blocking any CPU features, or needs to have these enabled.

        @robi Hi there, I don't think it is blocking anything do you know how I'd be able to check on virtualbox or is there a better alternative for vmware?

          @xbxyii In VMware ESX/Workstation, if you're using an older VM hw version, it can exclude such a feature. See if there is an upgrade available, or create a new VM with the latest configuration and validate you have access to AVX instructions with a liveCD.

              @xbxyii in that case you need to find the combination that applies to you:

              Perhaps this one applies if you're on a Microsoft host.
