Automatic Deletion of Update-triggered Backups

I am writing to discuss how backups work on Cloudron and to seek advice or solutions regarding a specific backup issue. As we know, Cloudron facilitates both scheduled backups and backups triggered by app updates. Scheduled backups are managed according to the Retention Policy settings, which function as expected without issues.However, the problem arises with the backups created automatically during application updates. These backups accumulate over time and are not automatically deleted, leading to significant storage space usage. This is particularly problematic for applications with substantial file accumulations and large databases, as the space required for these backups becomes considerable. As a result, regular manual cleanup is necessary to manage storage, which is time-consuming and requires constant attention.
Is there a way to automate the deletion of these update-triggered backups, similar to how scheduled backups are managed under the Retention Policy? An automated solution would greatly help in managing storage more efficiently and reducing the need for manual intervention.

These backups accumulate over time and are not automatically deleted
The backups created for an app update are deleted after 3 weeks. It's hard coded in the code. See the notes in https://docs.cloudron.io/backups/#cleanup-backups .
I understand the temptation to nuke them
but speaking with my support hat on, this is what covers our ass all the time. We ask people to revert to their old backup all the time. -
