I've been experiencing recurring failed backups with Backblaze and I'm looking to try someone else. ChatGPT created this table, but I'd like first hand experience with how reliable each provider really is; specifically, do you experience any failed backups and if so, how often? Feel free to share your experiences and recommendations. Thanks!

AWS S3 for years and Cloudflare R2 more recently (of course) are my two primary choices and they work perfectly 99.9% of the time. Looking forward to Hetzner storage boxes and imho they should be as good...

      No ventures, no fluff 🙂

Ignorance is not an excuse anymore!

@micmc Is that AWS standard or one of their other tiers (glacier, glacier deep archive, intelligent tier)? Wait, you never had any failed backups? If so, then BB is worse than that I thought!

Standard S3 yes. Tried BB in the past, quickly quit to say the least. 😉

Backup failure is almost nonexistent, indeed.

@humptydumpty I've been using Hetzner Storage Boxes for my backups for the past 5 years or so pretty much without issue. There has been the occasional issue with CIFS mounts, but I think that was more Cloudron related than Hetzner and mostly it's been totally fine.

I use Cloudron with Gandi & Hetzner
