Before I post an upstream bug report , I wanted to see if this is due to any Cloudron configuration.

I create a collection and mark it as public. I visit the url in an incognito window and get prompted to login.

Just did a quick test. I am able to view a public collection without login in my test instance. Are you able to reproduce this in the demo cloudron ? https://my.demo.cloudron.io (username/password is cloudron)

@joseph If you were logged into the demo server, it would just let you view it.

            I wasn't and it didn't.

@robi I didn't test on the demo but on my own test instance .

That test instance is gone by now, but I set up a new one at https://linkwarden.demo.cloudron.io/ .

              https://linkwarden.demo.cloudron.io/public/collections/1 works fine for me

You are sure you weren’t logged in ? You tested from a new incognito window?
