    Hello,

We’re in the process of migrating our backup storage from Wasabi to Cloudflare R2. However, when adjusting the backup settings, we encountered the following error:

    Error: put object cloudron-testfile.
Message: The region name 'eu-central-2' is not valid. Must be one of: wnam, enam, weur, eeur, apac, oc, auto
    HTTP Code: InvalidRegionName

It seems the region value is still being taken from the previous Wasabi configuration.

This is a screenshot for reference.

    Thank you in advance.

I think this issue was reported in https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/13970/error-configuring-backup-cloudflare-r2-object-storage as well but we were unable to reproduce it.

      Can you try this quickly:

      • Change the backup to filesystem first. To /var/backup
      • Now, set up R2 again. Does this work? If not, can you give us access to debug further since we cannot reproduce on our end.

@task Just a question: are you moving from Wasabi to Cloudflare R2 because their pricing based on "minimum storage retention policy"? (90 days)

I had a big suprise from them and then I moved (runned) away

@joseph Yes this solved the issue by changing to filesystem and then to Cloudflare R2
but from wasabi to R2 there is an issue

            Thanks for your help

              @task Thanks for your answer.

              Wow... 15 minutes downtime? Incredible...

How did you manage the "minimum storage retention policy"?

@p44 said in Error When Switching Backups from Wasabi to Cloudflare R2 – InvalidRegionName:

                minimum storage retention policy

I experienced repeated 503 errors while still on the trial period. In hindsight, I’m grateful this happened early, as it gave me a clear indication of potential service reliability concerns.

@task Totally agree with you: "I'm grateful this happened early".

If something has to happen, better sooner than later... I had the same issue with iDrive e2 (and ended up switching).

Keep us updated on your Cloudflare R2 experience, okay?
