Connect Matomo DB in External Application

I want to know how I can connect the Matomo DB to my external web app based on PHP.

If there is a way to connect, then please let me know. I need this to be done.

No that's not what I want, I have already done that but I'm not asking for any external windows tool instead I need to fetch the data to my web application where I can use the data for analytics and monitoring.

The two desktop apps are just used as an example of a common case. Generally it very much depends on your web applications stack and technology on how to connect to mysql and what kind of connection those libraries support.

Maybe you can give more context there and potentially we can help. Overall as seen in the docs page, the database container is not exposed on the public interfaces, so the mysql connection would go via an ssh tunnel into the system and then connect to the container as mentioned there in those examples.

Ah ok, I am not a PHP developer, not sure what libraries for php there are to connect to a mysql instance via an SSH tunnel, maybe someone with more PHP knowledge has some recommendations?
