5.8.2 / 33.0.4 breaks notifications

[da5nsy]

I'm noticing this just for Deck, and haven't had chance to check other functionality yet, but it seems like the recent update may've broken notifications.
It was working fine before the update.

I asked an LLM and it said this was the issue, which has now been backported, but I'm out of my depth so take that with a pinch of salt.
