    1. fresh install of unmanaged WordPress
    2. run all the updates
    3. go to /wp-admin/import.php click on Install under WordPress
    4. get this error
Installation failed: {"success":true,"data":{"install":"plugin","slug":"wordpress-importer","pluginName":"WordPress Importer","activateUrl":"https:\/\/uniteddiversity.org\/wp-admin\/plugins.php?_wpnonce=5a53772901&action=activate&plugin=wordpress-importer\/wordpress-importer.php"}} <!-- Performance optimized by Redis Object Cache. 1. Hit F5, looks like it did actually install

@jdaviescoates Can you try with the latest redis-cache plugin or use the latest unmanaged WP package? I think all issues are probably connected to that.

@girish said in Installing WordPress Importer fails:

As far as I'm aware I was using the latest everything, but similarly to some of my other WordPress reports last night, the next time I did it out all worked fine (which doesn't help work out what the actual issue was, but nevermind)

Just to say, I just tried installing WordPress Importer again on a new install and this time it worked fine, so whatever the problem was seems to have been resolved.

@girish I think this can be marked as solved (it's too old for me to edit, turn into a question and mark solved myself).
