I've read some things online that imply this is possible, but I wonder if it's actually possible on Cloudron? (I think it's not easy for apps to access each others' containers?)

I use Cloudron with Gandi & Hetzner

I think there will be a sync issue if we try to sync the sqlite database. i.e if the web app and the desktop app write to same sqlite at similar times, there will be a conflict when syncing. What might be better I think is to also expose the calibre content server in the app. This way you can click on the connect button in calibre desktop and connect to your database. It's in my TODO list.

If I've followed you correctly, I think what you're suggesting is to store books in the Calibre Web Cloudron app (uploading them there using the method @thetomester13 has described), and then connect Desktop Calibre to that?

On a related note: Is it possible to connect Lychee to a Nextcloud folder?

@jdaviescoates yes, the web app will be the source of truth. Which is nice, since it all gets backed up now.
