Bulk Update On Demand
-
Hello,
Currently, when an app update is available, it has to either A) wait for the scheduled auto update time, or B) be updated manually. While this isn't really an issue, it can be when someone (such as myself in this instance) has roughly 15 WordPress installs and wants to update them outside of the auto update time. Right now, when there is a WordPress update for example and I have 15 instances of them, if I want to update them all outside of the auto update schedule, I need to go into each one individually and hit the Update button.
I think it'd be awesome if there was a button - perhaps on the Settings page in the Auto Update section - that once updates were seen by Cloudron this button becomes available to force install all the updates on demand. I know if there's a Cloudron update specifically the Check For Updates button becomes an Install button, but this doesn't work for apps at all to my knowledge.
Please correct me if I'm wrong though hand have missed something obvious, because honestly I thought we had something like the above but I cannot figure it out so I think I may have just been dreaming of that functionality.

@d19dotca I don't think this does exist but I agree it'd be great.
It'd go really nicely with my other feature request to add Update Available to the drop down App State filter.
I can imagine a workflow like this:
- Filter to show all app that have Updates Available.
- Allow the apps to be selected somehow (perhaps checkboxes, like when updating plugins and themes in WordPress)
- Hit an Update button - all the selected apps get updated.

Yes, there is no button to "update all apps".
It'd be nice to have one!
Edit: But, also, perhaps as an alternative, just an option somewhere (perhaps where you turn auto-updates on/ off) to turn off the notifications about individual updates being available and not show the green update icon on apps.
In some ways, if I've got auto-updates on and I can't easily manually update all of them at once I don't even want to see that there is an update, I just want to let it do it automatically.
Or maybe if auto-updates are enabled just don't show the green update icon and don't send out the update available notfications?

@girish I should probably start a new thread about this, but I had a load of stopped apps that needed updating (because stopped apps don't get automatically updated, right?) and they were all showing the green update available icon, but for some reason the icon has now disappeared (is it only displayed for a certain amount of time or something?!?). I checked one of them and it hasn't actually updated (not surprising, because it's stopped), so now I'm left wondering why the green update available icon is no longer being displayed?!?

@jdaviescoates I think that's just a bug where the update notifications are "lost" when the server or the code restarts - https://git.cloudron.io/cloudron/box/-/issues/749 .

@jdaviescoates they'll be back the next time the server checks for updates and notices an upgrade is available.
