Budibase: an open source, no code platform
-
@timconsidine We're currently working on a single docker image deployment for Budibase. We plan on releasing this in a couple of weeks. This should enable the above.

@joebudi hi and welcome to our forum! We would happily work together with you on a Budibase app package. In our experience working closely together with upstream is always super helpful in initial packaging as well as ongoing updates for smooth data migration.
To give a very rough overview on Cloudron packages, they are Dockerimage based, the apps need to run in a read-only filesystem, where
/app/data
is writeable for persistent data, while/tmp
and/run
are for transient data. Further Cloudron comes with shared services like databases, which we call addons. You can find them here to avoid duplicating common services per app and for databases, ensure data dumps are coherent for backups, restore or app cloning. -
I was wondering if the Cloudron community would be interested in a Budibase add-on?
For viewers who don't know, Budibase is an open-source low code platform for building internal tools. You can connect your SQL database and generate responsive CRUD apps in a couple of clicks. You can find out more info on the Budibase Github repo.
The reason for this post is to understand the level of interest for this add-on so I (cofounder) can add weight to my proposal at our next roadmap meeting.

+1 on this!

@joebudi - I've been playing around with an environment hosted by Budibase. I would love to see this packaged with Cloudron at some point because it meets almost all of my needs and all of the apps I want to integrate with it are already on Cloudron.

Cloudron team, please check! I think now is possible to run budibase into cloudron! The budibase devs has announced a list of great updates! One of then is:
The Budibase all in one image, for use as a single image which provides all necessary services.
Announcement:

Budibase is now in version 2 since a couple of days, keeping the open source tier. Given the amount of additional functionality the platform has gained since the original discussion here took place, especially now with version 2, I feel it would be a great addition to the cloudron App Store, what are your thoughts on this @joebudi @nebulon ?

Did their single container thing ever materialize? I know they were working on it.

@doodlemania2 they indeed released it some time ago. I have a deployment running for some time now and did not encounter any issues so far. When packaging for cloudron i suggest adding the postgres database plugin, since the internal db limits to 4k rows in the free tier.
-
Is there anything one can to do to help this come to be? I would love to integrate my Budibase instances with Cloudron, the potential is really there!

@dominikjannis yes, see this post.
