Disable Registration

After an initial user registration I want to disable new users.
I changed the value for
enableregistrationto false via the file manager in/app/data/config.yml.Once I restart the app the file is overwritten and the value is set to true again.
How can I prevent new users from registering?

Getting fed up of having to scroll through the same posts each visit?
