Are the files stored on my server or devices?
-
I've used Syncthing in the past but not as a self-hosted app. The way I know it worked was that the app synced the local files on my PC's through shared folders. All files were stored locally on my devices only. Does this self-hosted app store any of the files on the VPS/cloud?
I'm just trying to understand the benefit of Cloudron Syncthing vs plain old Syncthing. Thanks for your patience

@humptydumpty Syncthing is entirely peer to peer. The app is essentially just a way to run syncthing on your server except, it's containerized and not running directly on the server just like other Cloudron apps.
You can mix this with Volumes and try to get data into other apps. Another important use case is that you can have the files on the server and thus part of your backups via Cloudron.

@girish That's great to know. Thanks for the explanation!
