Ah ok. AFAICT, you can run a node yourself and there are some rewards for running a node but you still have to visit their website to use search.

@girish i think there is a local search interface but it also contributes to the whole since it's blockchain connected.

I've been thinking of setting one up, but having it ready to install on Cloudron would be sweet. The only drawback could be some VPS hosts might not allow "crypto" on their servers and would shut me down. I'll have to read their ToS and ask.

@scooke what they don't approve of is the mining aspect and high CPU usage which screws up their shared hosting experience for everyone on the same hosts.

As I understand this is not mining but staking, hence not an issue and low CPU usage. Feel free to validate.

AFAIK @robi is correct, you’re rewarded for basically hosting a node. I have a node setup and have transitioned most of my searches over to Presearch. I’m addition to Node Rewards, you also get around 0.10 PRE per search up to 10/day. It would be pretty awesome for be able to setup a node in Cloudron!
