I just installed Elementor on my new wp site, and am getting an error when I try to install their template kits: "Elementor is not authorized to read or write from this file. Contact your site host."

They say that I need to reset my file permissions to default. I haven't changed any file permissions: in fact, I don't know how to change the permissions. From my wp files on the Cloudron dashboard, it seemed that www-data is the owner of all the files.

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

@billnew Looks like the plugin wants to write to some file (not sure which one). On Cloudron, we deploy the "code" as read only which prevents plugins for overwriting files. Since WordPress is quite popular and many plugins want to write in places that we don't expect, there is also a WordPress Developer package in the app store. Can you try Elementor in that app instead?

This is yet another example of WordPress Managed just being a support ticket generator, and not a lot else.

I don't really know why @staff keep the Managed package going at all, as all it seems to do is generate tickets? 😛

I use Cloudron with Gandi & Hetzner
