      I'm trying to learn the best way to set this all up. Right now I have cloudron installed on a Linode VPS. I have kutt installed on "go.domain.com". But I would like the shortened links to show up as "domain.com/shortlink" instead of "go.domain.com/shortlink"

      The reason I want to do this is so I can have a github pages landing page at "domain.com" instead of the kutt homepage. As you can probably tell, I don't know a ton about this stuff but I can figure most of it out as I go. What's the best way to do this? Manually by moving the files around myself? Or with some type of redirect or changing something in the DNS?

      Thanks!

        @squidds seems like you would have to free up the root domain from github pages to assign it the kutt app (leave the location field empty when creating the app)

          @squidds another option would be to get a second domain name and add it to your cloudron

            Yeah, I fail to see how you can have GitHub Pages on the top level domain but also have shortlinks go into another app. I don;t know much about GitHub pages (I thought it was only static hosting), can one set it up to do redirects etc ?

            I think easiest approach is just get another domain like domain and add it into kutt - https://docs.cloudron.io/apps/kutt/#custom-domains

              @girish Thanks for getting back to me @plusone-nick @girish -

              I have also thought about using a second domain for kutt. But, the reason I need to achieve something like this is because people are browsing to the root domain of my shortened links. So I'd like for them to have a little bit of my information and social media links. I was using YOURLS before, and a suprising amount of people were deleting the second part of the URL and browsing to the domain just to see what was there. I am not married to Kutt or Github Pages. For reference this was the app that I was using to generate the page for the Github Pages page for the root domain.

              Github Repo - Littlelink.io

              Thanks again for the replies, any input is appreciated.

                @squidds

                Our primary domain is https://uniteddiversity.coop and we have YOURLS set-up at https://ud.coop for shortlinks.

                I do have something at https://ud.coop (if people browse to that) but it just explains it's short for https://uniteddiversity.coop - perhaps a similar set-up could work for you?

                I use Cloudron with Gandi & Hetzner

                  Does anyone know if it would be possible to forward just the root domain to my github page? As an example, it would just be squidds.live to the github page. It's redirecting it right now. Not a huge deal. It would be pretty cool if I could set the domain name in the github pages option and then change my DNS to point to it.

                    Assuming I've understood you correctly, yes, once you've added a domain to Cloudron you can point any of your apps at either the root or sub-domain.

                    See https://docs.cloudron.io/domains/

                    And https://docs.cloudron.io/apps/#location
