Upon registration for my matrix client, users can enter in an email for verification. however, when a confirmation email is sent, the email is not received by the user. how can i fix this?

        1. Please go to https://my.perthmod.com/#/email/perthmod.com/status and take a look at the status of your DNS records. Is everything marked green? If so please go to https://my.perthmod.com/#/email/ and try to send a test mail to one of your private mail addreses (not hosted on Cloudron).

        2. Because you use Linode to host Cloudron, maybe port 25 is blocked.

        3. Because you selfhost your SMTP server (if you use the SMTP from your Cloudron), you send mails from the IP of your server. Some (big) mail providers might block mails coming from your servers IP (or network). Check your mail server logs for bounces.

PS: A little bit more informations would be nice in the future. Otherwise we have a hard time helping you.

@subven Hi again, I've found out that i needed to contact Linode to get port 25 unblocked. I've done so, however there's another error showing up that says there's a problem with the PTR record - which i don't see an option to configure on my DNS provider

@hustler PTR in your case is about setting a reverse DNS (rDNS) record. Take a look at the Linode tutorial: https://www.linode.com/docs/guides/configure-your-linode-for-reverse-dns/
