Hello everyone. I just finished setting up my Mastodon instance to use Minio (my own install but hosted elswhere, not on my Cloudron) rather than local storage. One of the guides I read (but can't recall) said that once everything was working I could delete the public/system directory because all the media would now be on Minio... is this true? That would save me 30GB of space, but I don't want to bork my instance either! What do you think, should I do it?
    Thank you.

PS: I should add that everything seems to be working. After 7 hours the Minio bucket has 1718 objects and is already 488MB in size.

EDIT: I just found the link which advises deleting the public folder https://stanislas.blog/2018/05/moving-mastodon-media-files-to-wasabi-object-storage/, it's down near the bottom where they write: You can now remove your public/system folder on your server! :D

@robi Great idea. If my Mastodon keeps working fine without these, that would be so good. I've currently had to exclude it from my regular backups because of its size, and because sometimes the backup process would choke on some file and fail. I'll give that a go and report back.

@scooke I'll report back! As long as you've copied everything over, then you can remove public/system.
