I’m potentially taking a look at setting up a Mastodon instance and have thoughts but wanted some feedback from it here’s currently using it
1. Do you feel you need the .social TLD or would you try to keep your brand consistent and run something like social.domain.com?
2. at this time I’d like to utilize Cloudron, but does Cloudron support the scaling if required or any other migration issues?
3. Are there and other Mastodon alternatives that might be worth looking at instead?

1. non-answer: we recently got cloudron.social and intend to move there.
2. I haven't heard to scaling issues. But in any case, you are able to move things in and out of Cloudron
3. Don't think there is anything that is as mature as Mastodon. Some alternatives: https://github.com/superseriousbusiness/gotosocial , https://akkoma.dev/AkkomaGang/akkoma , https://github.com/jointakahe/takahe , https://pleroma.social/
