Element Call?
-
Hey! I know this service (https://github.com/vector-im/element-call) is in the early stage, but are there any plans to integrate it as a separate service or as a part of Synapse server?
Jitsi really feels like a third-party thing and Jitsi on Cloudron I believe is not yet fixed to work on Cloudron behind NAT.

I'm pretty sure I've already tried doing a call and it worked fine. I think I just had to turn on lab or beta features or something in the admin settings.

@jdaviescoates well, yeah, but it was happening through the Element's servers
I'm looking for a fully self-hosted solution here. -

it works beautifully even behind NAT (which needs ports configured).

Just looked into that project, it is indeed very early to think about integrating it. We will have to see how long the project takes to mature. The general issue with conferencing tools is they require lots of deployment specific considerations and very hard for us as packagers to debug. FWIW, Jitsi works great for us, but we deployed it on a VPS and not in intranet.

@humptydumpty the most reliable way - it's a tcpdump or another network sniffer
It's not something I do though - I just check the architecture and then see the code and configs, when available. -

@girish got it, thanks!
As for Jitsi - my showstopper issue is not yet resolved =(
