"suddenly" can't send email (while trying to reinstall Mastodon)
-
Here is the error: connect ECONNREFUSED 172.18.0.3:2525
I have installed Mastodon with LDAP, and without (Let app manage).
I've made a user admin, and haven't made them admin on the next install.
The auth emails never arrive, so I checked the Email panels to make sure they are sending, and that is the error.????
Does this mean NONE of my emails have been being sent??
My cloudron is at my.example.com, and the Email settings for this main domain return this error when I try to Test send.
The Mastodon domain is the same as before - social.futurnumerique.com. In the apps (Cloudron) settings I've set the email to be both one using that domain, as well as trying the Cloudron domain, just to be able to get that darn auth email sent. It has apparently NOT been sent. The error is the same whether I assign the CLoudron domain as the email, or the Mastodon app domain (with external SMTP) as the email.
I can't figure this out! Help!

I've since checked with my VPS host and it appears both port 25 and 2525 are currently blocked, though I've been using this VPS for years now. EDIT: 17 hours later, can confirm the host is NOT blocking these ports... but email still is not being sent. ??
However, this shouldn't matter if I am trying to use my externally set-up email (mxroute). Even setting the email from the Cloudron Dashboard to use and send from an external email, I still get the
connect ECONNREFUSED 172.18.0.3:2525
. What gives? -
Welp... I followed a few other posts about email not working, and found a file in the mail queue, removed it, restarted the mail... and now it works. I might delete all this... but I might leave it up as a suggestion to anyone else to do the same. At the very least, try restarting mail in the Dashboard.
