I also wanted to get Unifi control packaged for some time, but didn't yet get around to do so, besides an initial attempt at https://git.cloudron.io/cloudron/unifi-app

Our Cloudron app package base image is a plain ubuntu and the installation of in this case Unifi controller was no issue, but I struggled to setup the mongodb database. Maybe taking a fresh look at it at some point will reveal the issue.

@robi In assumption that there is already at least one domain, the code to add a mailbox for a user is already there --> API documentation of Cloudron.

To implement such feature you would need a checkbox like "create email address", a drop down menu that lists all domains (with mailserver enabled?) and a field for the inbox name.
