And because it looks like an April Fool's joke, I'm giving it a thumbs up. I have it installed on every device. Super cool tool. It's worth taking a look at.

Yeah, I thought the same, but I wonder if it works better too!
I've found Pairdrop to mostly just not work at all with large files (and/ or to be so incredibly slow as to in effect not be working).
@luckow does Local Send work well for large files? Have you tried? thanks!

I just did a test, wasn't particularly fast, but it worked:
