Haraka release

The instruction is very clear:
- Edit
/home/yellowtent/box/src/infra_version.js
. - Change the mail container image to
registry.docker.com/cloudron/mail:3.16.1@sha256:900b7f55a74a289568c501cd873c24738d424e24f005c3c49cf76a26c296ec22
systemctl restart box
If you are unable to follow such a simple instruction, you should not do it at all!
It would be in your own best intrest to just wait for the official release of the new update.
But I can try to make it even simpler.
Connect to your Cloudron server
ssh root@my.DOMAIN.TLD
Start editing the
/home/yellowtent/box/src/infra_version.js
file:nano /home/yellowtent/box/src/infra_version.js
Find the line that says:
'mail': 'reg[...]',
Replace the current entry with:
registry.docker.com/cloudron/mail:3.16.1@sha256:900b7f55a74a289568c501cd873c24738d424e24f005c3c49cf76a26c296ec22
Save the file and close the editor.
Restart thebox.service
systemctl restart box

@joseph I wanted to also ask a question outside this cloudron scope and see if you can point me to the right direction. I am looking for how to write a script that has the capcity to run any file in any type of OS remotely. Meaning I can just download and the file runs on the script fully/silently without forcing any permissions on my user interface.
For example if i want to send updates on a particlar software, i just want it to be downloaded and run without user being able to prompt and allow permissions

@BrutalBirdie @joseph I actually do not think this is working as you said it would. Anytime i try to do this i encounter problems
my cloudrun will stop connecting
i actually think i should have left it the way it was. I changed the update but it still is not working
can you check this

Dedicated support costs money.
If you are willing to pay, you can send me a message or mail. -
@BrutalBirdie @joseph I do not need any dedicated help.
I just need this to work.Like i stated earlier I have replaced the mail container which you advised earlier... so what next because this is not working...
just tell me what to do and i will do it

If we could all just write in some forum and get our problems solved for free.
Men, that would be awesome, huh?@mmtrade said in Haraka release:

If I knew, I would not suggest dedicated help from me on a paid basis.
Something went wrong and figuring out what and fixing that, can not be done like this.
Since it will cost time, time is money. -
@BrutalBirdie Please i followed your steps as you told me and i restarted the server. currently the mail contaciner contains new release of haraka.
let me show you.. i also used Ubutu24.4 and not 22.4. could that be the issue??
-
Well, I can see a quotation mark missing in the
'mail'
line...
You know, the grey instead of violet color gave it away -
Exactly what @necrevistonnezr said.
Even the color indicates the issue.And. . .
Do I see this correctly? Did you putsystemctl restart box
inside the file 🤨@mmtrade said in Haraka release:
i followed your steps
You don't tho. My instructions:
- Replace the current entry with:
- Save the file and close the editor
- Restart the box.service
systemctl restart box
Are these instructions not suffiant to you?
Better to clarify that you are lacking experience, knowledge or there might be a language barrier.
We have blind and dyslexic people in this forum. But since they stated they need extra help because, they just need it, everyone here is happy to help.
So please, take the following words to heart.Treat peoples time with the utmost respect, since we all only got one life and that time is precious.
Be humble, be nice.
- Fix the missing
'
in the file - remove the
systemctl restart box.service
text from the file - save and exit the file
- type
systemctl restart box.service
in the terminal and hitENTER
on your keyboard
-
@BrutalBirdie I actually do not know why you are coming to me this way. I do not purposely try to waste peoples time. I have a genuine concern because the last time i tried it the Haraka problems did not resolve. It was still thesame.
Well we are here now and after correcting it still same connection issues, That was how i kept posting the problem before you lots found out that the Haraka had an error which led us to this.
What can you say about this.
-
Dude, you still have „systemctl restart box.service“ in your file.

Dude, you still have „systemctl restart box.service“ in your file.
@mmtrade
Not only that! Now I see in your first screenshot from here: https://forum.cloudron.io/post/106182
That in the FIRST line you have added some random chars that also cause errors. And now in your latest post:
https://forum.cloudron.io/post/106236
You've added even more random char AND the whole docker image string in the first line?! -
@BrutalBirdie @joseph I am not wasting anyone's time. I managed to achieve that new Karaka release and yet the smtp issues are still thesame. It gets corrupt after sending a few mails like 1500 aproximately
See attached to confirm I changed the update.
-
@BrutalBirdie @joseph My point is with the change in Haraka container we still experience thesame corruption. This is the message i have been trying to send out.. I have been low key working on this and I have seen that the problem is within so i guess this problem should be escalated by your team..
