I tried setting this to true, but that didn't work either.
I've also invited some people via UI, but they cannot register or login via "lost password".

Have you restarted the app after changing the env variable?

@robi Whatever. I could create 1 user (me), but failed to add more.

So after looking at the postiz code itself, it turns out they only check for existance of that environment variable. So if export DISABLE_REGISTRATION=whatevervalue is in the .sh config file, registration is disabled.

To enable it, remove that line or comment it out (prepending a # on that line). Then restart the app.

Thx @nebulon ! This could be part of the First Time Usage hints or docs at https://docs.cloudron.io/apps/postiz/ - just not a very obvious behaviour by Postiz

@nebulon How does one edit that file? I assume you speak about the start.sh?

@badmonky the app has a env file in its data directory. You should see that in the filemanager. There you should find that variable. See also https://docs.cloudron.io/packages/postiz/#customization

I am familiar with the env file. I was just confused about the mention of the .sh file. Which i don't think is intended to be edited by us?

                          Thanks for the clarification.

The env file used to be called env.sh but got renamed since then to not use .sh extension to match the other apps.
