From Cloudron's POV, Haraka is an implementation detail (while nothing that we have made lots of contributors to Haraka) . I think opening up Haraka to end users just sets up for future maintenance problems.

Maybe this can work another way: if you don't mind contributing the plugin, maybe we can work together to get it integrated into Cloudron itself? We have enough hooks in our custom Cloudron plugin already (for the eventlog) to capture the emails, I think. So, I guess we need to put all the mails in some database or equivalent.

I just came across https://github.com/LogicLabs-OU/OpenArchiver https://openarchiver.com/ and figured I'd mention it here in case it's useful.

I use Cloudron with Gandi & Hetzner

We decided to implement a mail bcc feature like in postfix to support mailpiler and similar archivers . Working with @milian.hackradt on this in the background.

          This deserves a separate thread

@CaeruleusAqua are you asking about custom bcc feature or custom haraka plugin? Custom haraka plugins won't be supported, this is not on the roadmap. Bcc feature might be. For 9.2, it will be primarily a mail feature release.

                That sounds promising.
I think the mail server is pretty good so far, but there is still room for improvement (Bcc feature, native MTA-STS, native support for DMARC reporting, BIMI, etc.). Currently, a lot still has to be entered manually in the DNS.

                  Isn't BIMI ultra expensive? https://www.thesslstore.com/resources/bimi-certificate-cost-for-cmcs-and-vmcs/

It costs around €1,500 per year. And depending on the certificate, you will also need a registered trademark.
Everyone has to decide for themselves whether it's worth it. We didn't do it either, as most of our customers use Outlook anyway and will never see the logo.

I just remembered that I noticed a while ago that the Cloudron DKIM key still has 1024 bits. Nowadays, the recommendation is actually closer to 4096 bits. It might make sense to address this. However, I don't know if there would be problems with some DNS systems (character limitations in the DNS and so on...).
