Cloudron 10 released

Big features

• Mail server
  • Forwarding lives on the mailbox
  • ARC headers when forwarding
  • Relay tokens (apps/scripts can send without a mailbox password)
  • Global allow and deny list for spam
  • Notes on mailboxes
  • Webmail - new Mail client (search, spam control, filters from a message, Contacts and Calendar)
• VPN protection - restrict specific apps to WireGuard or OpenVPN
• Container registry - OCI-compatible registry with a built-in build server. Community App Store is nearing 100 apps
• Ubuntu 26.04 LTS (default for new installs). 22.04 and 24.04 still supported. Upgrade guide
• SSO - packages moving to OIDC (93 on OIDC, proxyAuth done, about 25 still on LDAP). App access view (what a user can open, and why)
• Login sessions - browsers and CLI on the profile

Other notable changes

• Infomaniak as a DNS provider
• Personal access tokens are now called API tokens
• Admins can create an app password that authenticates as another user
• Password reset accepts a passkey as 2FA
• TOTP backup codes
• Email notification when an app updates successfully
• Certificates and DNS sync show last run time and status
• Backups preserve file modification times
• Redis maxmemory policy and a persistence flag
• SCIM can list groups and admin roles
• Security - sanitize HTML and markdown, enforce 2FA with the external LDAP connector, app links can no longer point at internal IPs

Basic question: I am still on 9.2, I'm never an early adopter
Is there a 10.0.5 planned / imminent ?
If so, I might hold off for that.

10.0.5 is not planned. In fact, 10.1 is almost there (with the base image updates and database changes). Most likely, we will have the initial realease this weekend/monday.

Congratulations on releasing Cloudron 10.

The part of the announcement post I liked most was the origin story, how you loved RSS/Atom and had a great collection of feeds and that all came asunder when Google Reader was stopped. It is great that you and Johannes started Cloudron then.

I have always thought RSS/Atom is great tech. If its popularity became more widespread, people would stay off proprietary platforms much more.

What I want to know is how you managed responding to what you read and browsed, because being able to react is part of the great fun of the internet.

Also, i have tried weaning myself back onto a life of RSS/Atom a few times but can't seem to make the break from the websites. Do you have any tips on how to do that and especially how to comment without jumping back onto the web-browser again.

@jdaviescoates is correct. We don't test jumping arbitrary versions, so the flow is 9.2.0 -> 10.0.4 and then 10.0.5 . The versions till 10.0.3 had some regressions, so we tested the jumping directly to 10.0.4.
