I'm using the following, works well enough for me.

Simple Calendar Pro - Events & Reminders (Be notified of the important moments in your life.) -

@ruihildt although I can't work out how to connect Simple Calendar Pro to DAVx5 - when I looking in CalDAV sync in settings all I'm seeing are my Google calendars.

      How do you do it?

Aha, I renamed it from the same name as one of my Google accounts to Nextcloud calendar and then I could see it. I guess the fact it was the same name confused it or something.

Although I've just added another Calendar on Nextcloud and I don't seem to be able to get Simple Calendar Pro to see it.

Perhaps I'll try the rename trick again...

Edit: doh! I think Simple Calendar Pro wasn't seeing it yet just because I hadn't re-synced DAVx5 yet.

@jdaviescoates Sometimes I also have to go to the settings and enable some calendar sync there.

I use DAVx5 with the built-in calendar. Been using this setup for years. The calendar itself is on nextcloud.

@girish said in What Android calendar app are you using?:

                I use DAVx5 with the built-in calendar

                What built in calendar?!?

I couldn't see one and the manual clearly states:

                DAVx⁵ is not:

a contacts, calendar or tasks app – You still need separate apps to view and edit your contacts, events and tasks. You can use any app that uses the Android Contacts/Calendar Provider for contacts/calendars and an OpenTasks provider for tasks.

Ah, I think I know what you mean, you've just using the built-in calendar that was already on you phone? What calendar is that, out of interest? The only built-in calendar on my phone is the Google one and I didn't want to use that 😛

@jdaviescoates yes indeed, that's what I meant. I use the Google calendar.

@girish I realised today that Google Calendar has magically sucked in my Nextcloud Calendar since I installed DAVx5 and so now I get two notifications for everything! 😆
