      As an aside, we're packaging Jira for you 😉

        To make icons more suitable for all places we use them, we require a square png.
        We could change the dashboard css but then the forum and other places will have the same issue. Generally I just open inkscape and produce a square one at 512px

          @nebulon Of course, I'll make a prettier one.

          We'll look at again another day because there's ways to do that with image libs, we do something similar for our ecommerce websites, including cropping whitespace for consistent dimensions in grid layouts.

              This is going yo make adoption for people tough if its going away. Which sucks because I do like Jira Software. From work I'm very much used to the Jira + Bitbucket + Confluence workflows.

                @atrilahiji honestly, not a fan of anything Atlassian since discovering GitLab - but to save migrating a whole load of historic data, it's handy to keep our instances for archive access.

                  FFS, there's 5 different meaningless icons for it:

                    Hmmm, we I would but I can't seem to change the icon, keeps going back to the old one, and resetting, clearing doesn't work either. Sorry, trivial distractions.

                      @marcusquinn Looks like the first one is the one you need. But yeah the Atlassian ecosystem has become incredibly confusing. And don't get me started on the feature cap between "next gen" projects and regular pleb old projects and their inability to add dark theme for so long: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-63150

                      Me and some co-workers have been following this for a while. Like come on Atlassian its not hard. Hire me I'll do it.

                        @atrilahiji They turned into Microshaftsoft.

                        Seems billion-dollar software apps are all destined to be crapware.

                          World's most forgettable icon for anyone wanting it until I can upload:

                            @marcusquinn Exactly.

                            People: "Dark theme plz"
                            Atlassian: "Look we added it to our desktop apps use that insead"
                            People: "No... I meant for the web app"
                            Atlassian: "Our code base is complex and we will have to evaluate it"
                            ... nani?!?!?!

                            They're sitting there trying to tell a community of devs that their codebase is too complex for some CSS changes.

                              @atrilahiji F that, I just use Dark Reader extension on everything, does a better job in 99% of cases anyway.
