Lost dns access to cloudron app when switching IP
-
@girish I did notice in my digital ocean portal that the A record for Domain.com is different from A record my.domain.com. I dont have the A record for domain.com in DO. I currently only have A record for my.domain.com.
Is there anyway I can find original A record for domain.com within cloudron?
What would be a good process to recreate A record domain.com from DO?
-
@girish No but luckily I had my apps backed up and created a new droplet and was able to get the apps back in and was able to get back into apps.
Funny thing is today my other cloudron app went down after 2 minutes of logging in and now I am unable to get back into the cloudron instance.
Is there some services that are down today?

@gary-host By unable to get back, do you mean you are unable to login into the dashboard? Or the browser shows some domain/ssl error?
Cloudron is pretty much entirely selfhosted on your server, so nothing on our side can bring your instance down.
-
@girish Unable to log into the dashboard.
I could not reach any apps by typing in domain name and would say " internal server error"
I went ahead and restored a droplet backup from Digital Ocean.
Waited a few minutes.
When I log into my.domainname.com I get " You are seeing this page because this domain points to cloudron serverIP but no apps is installed on that domain"
But if I type my app domain after the restore, then it brings me to the apps no problem.
I am unable to get into the dashboard.
I did notice that the registered cloudron account is missing my cloudron plan that is hosting the domain that I am unable to get to the dashboard.
Could this be causing the interference of unable to get to the dashboard?

@gary-host can you check if the dashboard domain and the app domain point to the same droplet ip in your dns? I think maybe they are probably pointing to different cloudron instances. If it's correct, can you also check in another browser/machine to rule out any caching issues?
The domain in cloudron.io subscription page should not matter, it's actually just a label and not used for anything. We can rename it if you drop a mail to support@cloudron.io

@girish I believe you are correct and is a caching issue.
I just tried on another computer and when typing in domain, it brought me to the cloudron login page.
I will have to wait until later to try logging in as I am having issues logging in using my saved credentials from this new computer.
