      https://github.com/drawpile/Drawpile
      GPL-3.0
      https://github.com/drawpile/Drawpile/blob/master/pkg/docker/Dockerfile

Drawpile is a drawing program that lets you share the canvas with other users in real time.

      Some feature highlights:

Runs on Linux, Windows and OSX
Shared canvas using the built-in server or a dedicated server
Record, play back and export drawing sessions
      Simple animation support
      Layers and blending modes
      Text layers
      Supports pressure sensitive Wacom tablets
      Built-in chat
      Supports OpenRaster file format
      Encrypted connections using SSL
      Automatic port forwarding with UPnP

There was a Free Software collaborative pad I used online before, and it supported basic paint/whiteboard image creation. I can't remember what it was now. Maybe somebody here knows it.

I think drawpile is a desktop program and not a web application. Not 100% sure though.

          @girish
There are both server and client dependencies...
          https://github.com/drawpile/Drawpile#building-with-cmake

Perhaps there is a more suitable collaborative paint option though. I hope somebody can suggest one, if so.

@loudlemur indeed, just saw SERVER=off: don't build the stand-alone server. in the README
