LDAP error when first logging in as admin (and LDAP doesn't seem to work)

I can reproduce this as well. Looks like something is wrong with LDAP configs of the app. Have to investigate.

It looks like this needs upstream fixes in the code with much more further debugging.
So I guess this has to wait a bit to get fixed and thus it will remain marked as unstable for the moment until we have time to dig into the calibre-web codebase.

Fair enough. I'm looking forward to LDAP (or even just new account creation) working so I can more easily share books with my team

I just came back here to say:

Calibre is listed as having LDAP over on:
https://www.cloudron.io/appstatus.html

But given it doesn't work at all, that isn't currently correct

@jdaviescoates yeah, I think it's best to remove LDAP support from the app since it's unlikely I can create the PR anytime soon. I have to learn python among other things.

I also can't help noticing the app has been stuck in "unstable" for ages - is that just because the LDAP wasn't working?

@girish I'm using cloudron for my family and friends about 20+ people,I'd like to see ldap work between calibre and cloudron.
So please ask for ldap support if is possible?

And after a little test,maybe the problem is about LDAP groups?last I check groups settings also broken in nextcloud

@anschein Cloudron groups do not integrate with groups inside the app. This is intentional. Cloudron LDAP only provides authentication and not authorization. Most group stuff is related to authorization.

However, Cloudron groups are exposed via LDAP. So, if you want, you can set this up yourself manually.

I did some investigation on the LDAP integration with the outcome that it might not be possible to integrate this app at all currently. I have posted an issue for clarification on my understanding at https://github.com/janeczku/calibre-web/issues/2652

If this is all true, then I guess we will remove LDAP support for the moment.
