        Hi everyone!

I have just published the initial app package for OpenHAB, it is only tested in my personal environment thus far and all my devices are network connected, so it is likely that the package needs lots of improvement to work with other devices, which are physically connected to your home server. But lets fix that as we go.

Thanks to @vladimir-d for the initial packaging effort!

Do not use in production yet. It's working but not ready.

@nebulon sorry to say but OpenHAB was not in the top 100 of the app wishlist! Why not focus on the top 20 of not created apps? Is Cloudron still a personal hobby project?

How are you able to view the App Wishlist ranked like this?

Also, which applications would you most like packaged?

@girish 🙏 Thanks. Ironically, I'm only just getting around to testing it, but this and Home Assistant are both very good in demos I've seen.

I think it needs a little more initial memory allocated, as my first install form this package gets stuck in a memory crash & restart loop.

OpenHAB is a new app in a space/category in which we have no app for.

Energy consumption is a much discussed topic because of climate change and the war. openHAB helps with measuring usages at home. In Germany, electricity prices have sky rocketed and knowing one's personal and office usage is quite high priority.

Why not focus on the top 20 of not created apps?

Well... I understand this is disappointing but the forum votes are just a way to see what the community is interested in and a way to get discussion around apps going. Instead of people driving by with "+1" post in the thread, you now have a button to click. That's about it. This doesn't automatically become the company's goal or the priority.

@imc67 in my personal time, Cloudron is very much used by me outside the company scope as well. I think it is a strength that Cloudron can be utilized in many different use-cases due to apps serving different things.
