Hi on Pertube it shows me that it has 42 GB of data occupied, but there are only two users and we are not watching anyone and the videos of the users have 11 GB. Please does anyone know how to find out what is taking up data on peertube. Or how to delete this data. Thank you very much for your advice.

@archos just a wild guess, but I'd guess it's due to federation. You are probably storing videos from other peertubes or something (at least stuff like that happens on Mastodon, I think).

But also, it could perhaps be just because it's storing multiple versions of those 11GB of data in different resolutions? 🤷

@archos I think you have to start with checking which files/directories are taking up space using the File manager.

@jdaviescoates We don't follow anyone there, even from other social networks. So I don't think it's the federation, but I hadn't thought of storing videos. It's just weird that it doesn't show up in the user quota.

Can also use a web terminal to figure this out:

@girish said in Peertube large amounts of data:

                  du -hcs *

I have 21 gb of videos and 18 gb in the streaming-playlists folder. Do you think I can delete the folder?

So the problem was in the VOD transcoding settings. I also had WebTorrent transcoding enabled and the videos are then saved 2x. Thanks for the help, I think the thread is solved
