    From https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/8948/cloudron-updates

    There is a way to enable/disable automatic updates at the app level. The request here is to allow this for the platform as well.

      @girish
      Is there a way to instead of it being all or nothing, having the option to prevent updates for x.x.0 updates only?

        @privsec instead of overcomplicating this (which needs to be tested and all), I guess disabling the platform autoupdates will be sufficient here. It is not like we release every week 🙂

          @nebulon I see your point, and I think the feature proposed here would be good anyway, but it is not really the feature request that solves the use case that started the whole discussion in the thread @girish pointed to which had more to do with some people running sensitive instances not wanting to update to minor/major release automatically because they are more buggy (even if already pretty stable and good). It was not about stopping auto update altogether.

          So am not sure how "overcomplicated" it is, but with regards to the actual use case that started this discussion, it seems to me that it could make sense to have the option for auto-update to only happen for all patch releases different to 0, where update for new major / minor release (x.x.0) to have to be done manually.

          Again I'm not saying don't do what is proposed here, I'm just clarify why @privsec wrote their comment, as this was more what their original issue was about.

            Yeah, imho it makes lots of sense to me for there to be an option to have all app update automatically, but for the platform to not auto update.

            I use Cloudron with Gandi & Hetzner
