Second server for staging
-
Hi team,
We're working on adding a staging environment to our system architecture, and are thinking about setting up a dedicated Cloudron instance for that. I understand that this requires a second license and account, which is fine. I'm wondering if you have any recommendations on ways to streamline configuration of the new machine based on the existing one. I'm guessing probably not, but wanted to ask just in case... (Domain name and app data will be different, so it's not a restore operation.)
Thank you! -

A second license yes, but what do you mean with account here?
For a local test environment i would set the domain to manual management and provide my own ssl certificate. This way you don't accidentally expose/leak your test environment is to the public. But it's on course less convenient than just using Cloudflare for DNS and let's encrypt.

You could perhaps do a dry run restore and then update domains. But still the data issue

I was guessing that I'd need a separate login to https://console.cloudron.io, but it actually looks like we can add multiple Cloudron subscriptions to one account from https://console.cloudron.io/#/cloudrons
