I noticed this week that the packaged version is five releases and many months behind the upstream repository. Curious to hear if there are plans to update the version available on Cloudron soon.

@sparkwise I actually gave it a shot again last week. Currently, the state of etherpad is quite buggy. Installing plugins does not work anymore because of issues like https://github.com/ether/etherpad-lite/issues/5643 https://github.com/ether/etherpad-lite/issues/5583 https://github.com/ether/etherpad-lite/issues/5609 . Despite the project saying it wants node 18 (https://github.com/ether/etherpad-lite?tab=readme-ov-file#requirements) , it doesn't really work.

        Yikes. Thanks for sharing.

Poking around the Issues, I did see something suggesting that plugin loading may now be fixed on the develop branch: https://github.com/ether/etherpad-lite/issues/6105#issuecomment-1925825364

@nebulon I believe that blocker has been resolved. Perhaps time to revisit? It's a great application.

Just gave that a spin and indeed the basic oidc integration started to work. Still some issues like display name is not taken into account as well as the admin interface appears to be only with basic auth. Will look into this soon.

We have just published a new package version. Given that etherpad has changed internally quite a bit, it may be a bit bumpy, and one has to relogin after update as far as I can tell in my testing.
