It is brilliant when Cloudron supports yet another Free Software application. Often, these are first made available flagged as "unstable". It is quite easy to not notice newly supported applications.

I hope Cloudron introduces a notification (perhaps with a special gold colour or something) to indicate a new application is in the Cloudron stable.

+1! This would be great and reduce my personal need (anxiety 🙄 ) to keep spamming the F5 key on the App Store to see if anything new was added.

TBH this is probably a job for email newsletters and social media announcement posts, since many users won't be on the forum or checking the app store all that often. Perhaps there's not enough time to cover all channels.

How about the ability to sort in the app store? So we can sort by date added or date stabilized or so. That would be useful when we just want to get up to date with what Cloudron staff has packaged recently.

Why not install the Change Detection app and point it at the app store unstable URL? Then you get notified of any changes where ever you desire.

I am on this train of thought as well. I prefer not to add notifications on the Dashboard for external events. This is really marketing imo and the dashboard should be about system administration. Not to mention this will make a whole bunch of marketing related api calls just to show the notification . Now people will want to opt out of this etc.

As to why we don't send newsletters, we hardly have time for all this...

just to have this mentioned here, the appstore view has a filter for new apps:

@nebulon yes, however is there a URL from that view that can be monitored or an API call to use in Change Detection to help monitor+notify for new apps?

Well if you look into the web inspector, you could just utilize the rest APIs just like the dashboard itself does. "New Apps" here is just defined as first published within last n days.

But the initial feature request was about a way to find new apps, which is what the menu item is about if I understood this correctly?
