apps stuck at "Updating - Waiting for Cloudron to finish backup"
-
I woke up to find some apps stuck in this state " Updating - Waiting for Cloudron to finish backup. See the Backups view". Clicking on the red X doesn't stop the processes. What should I do now? Is it safe to restart the app?
Edit: actually, I can't restart the app as all buttons are greyed out saying "app is busy".

@humptydumpty has the backup finished? Perhaps that is stuck and that need sorting first?

It should be done by now. The schedule is set to do this stuff early AM hours. I found another post where this happened, but I was able to restart the app to get it fixed. I'm going to try restarting the entire VPS. Fingers crossed I don't blow it up lol.

2 out of 3 apps decided to resume updating after the VPS restart. It looks like it's working fine now. For future reference, is restarting the entire VPS the only way to fix this? Any way to avoid taking down all apps because of a stuck update?

Just look at the Backups view and see if it's still running? When they get stuck you can normally stop them there.
Edit: ah, too late, you've already rebooted the VPS

@jdaviescoates I'm seeing a backup entry at the scheduled time for all stuck apps and another one for when it just re-did the update process. BTW, all buttons were greyed out. However, if I opened the terminal and logs, both have buttons to restart the app which were not greyed out, but clicking on them didn't trigger a restart.

You can click repair after you have canceled a task, it is safe to click without losing data.

@girish I couldn’t do that. The task wasn’t canceling and buttons greyed out. When i opened the terminal, it didn’t load the page (edit: it didn’t load the content within the black frame, the menu was there) so i couldn’t type in any commands and the restart button in the terminal and log pages didn’t trigger a restart once clicked. A full vps restart did the trick though.
