    Hi,

My Cloudron is a VM in ESXi
I also have a TrueNas VM in the same ESXi

I would like to move my NextCloud data directory as a NFS share on the TrueNas VM

I've tried a lot of things but nothing is working
Let Cloudron move the directory via the GUI is not working
Copy and Symlink of a directory neither, and I've tested different directories

My NFS share is mounted as a volume in Cloudron, but I wonder about options of the share and owner and group of the dataset

Could anybody help me doing this ?

If doing this with a iSCSI share is a better way, it's ok for me, but I've found no guideline about that

    Thanks !

      Not working how?

Presumably you mean you've tried this? https://docs.cloudron.io/apps/#data-directory

What actually happened? any logs to share?

I've never tried it, but my understanding is that NFS should work for data directories.

I use Cloudron with Gandi & Hetzner

        Thanks for your answer.
Yes I tried that and a lot of other things
But before annoying people with logs, I think that I need to confirm something :

        TrueNas file-system is zfs
It is often said in the doc that Cloudron needs ext4 ... exclusively ?
Can a nfs share of a zfs dataset work ? Or only nfs share of ext4 dataset (that don't exist on TrueNas) ?

        https://docs.cloudron.io/apps/#data-directory
cifs and sshfs volumes are unsuitable as an app's data directory as they do not support file permissions and ownership. mountpoint and nfs volumes may or may not work depending on the destination filesystem.

Good question, I've no idea myself.

I don't think we have ever tried having an app on a NFS volume from TrueNAS. I recently installed on though but that is not yet operational, once it is I will do some testing, but until that maybe you can just also give it a try with some test app/data so we gain more insights on this collectively.

as mentioned this has not been tested... But please let us know if it works or not. If you can post logs here it will help. For example, where is it failing in the first place. Did the volume creation work, for a start ?
