Invidious broke again, but now that inv_sig_helper is archived, it seems cloudron should move to this new tool.

There is now a branch in the app package repo to switch from sighelper to companion https://git.cloudron.io/packages/invidious-app/-/commits/companion

At the moment this still fails to get a valid po token, even on residential IPs. Not yet sure where to go with this. I have asked in the invidious chat about this, so lets see.

@nebulon While the companion seems to be running it is not listening on port 8282 as the FE config seems to expect. Could that be part of the reason it fails?

Ah sorry, forgot to update this thread. The app package has moved to companion and is already published and works. Of course the Cloudron needs to run on an IP which is not blocked by youtube, just like before. Most VPS provider IP ranges are blocked, but if you run Cloudron on a residential IP it should be fine.

@nebulon will Cloudron 9 have the ability to VPN out from a container and have apps appear to come from a different IP?

For the experimenters, let's say getting Cloudflare WARP working for an app such as this.

This is probably a feature request on its own and probably needs some first assessment on what this even involves. Maybe you can add a thread for this outlining this a bit more in detail.
