- Summary: The App Store package of Syncthing relies on Syncthing's public default discovery servers to allow devices to find each other. This may not suit some users for reasons of (i) privacy and/or (ii) avoiding excess polling.
- Notes: Synching is great but is not 100% self-hosted when using default syncing discovery servers. Also I have had some abuse reports from excess polling when deploying Syncthing previously. Using your own discovery server keeps it 100% selfhosted, more secure (no external dependencies) and avoids any risk of abuse reports.
