WTF ?! That's my forecast ! From June 2024 !
When the idiotic UK population elected a NetZero fascist. Soon we will not be able to afford to buy electricity for our homes, so have to generate it ourselves. And more scurrilously, if we don't generate 1 kWh per day for the national grid, then we will be fined, and our social credits will be marked down.

Unless I've misunderstood what you're getting at, this suggests to me that you are severely uneducated about seriousness of climate change (and likely the other 6 - of 9 - planetary boundaries we've already breached).

It's not about climate change (which is serious), it's about political corruption (which is even more serious). And we all fall for it, time after time after time.@timconsidine what would be the right things to do from your perspective?
The recently published Warm Homes Plan and Local Power Plan are both pretty decent IMHO (although still LOTS of room for improvement and not enough details about implementation yet).
IMHO there is much MUCH more political corruption related to keeping us all hooked on fossil fuels than there likely ever will be with renewables (which by their very natures are inherently more distributed).
