A link to describe the latest new app Contacts please
-
I see there is a new app called Contacts. It hasn't shown up in my New Apps section so I can't find out what it is and what it does. Could someone post a link to it, it's GH url or whatever? Or is it one of the in-house Cloudron apps like Cubby? Either way, it'd be nice to know what it is. (I guess it might also be nice if I could just be patient!)

I had a look and found it here: https://git.cloudron.io/apps/contacts

Yes it is a Cloudron built app for the sole purpose of managing contacts in addressbooks. It provides a carddav server which can sync to all the common clients. This was mostly done out of frustration of not having a good app which we can fix ourselves for such a basic use-case. We didn't make a big fuss of this but I thought it is pretty much ready to see the light, so I published it

It has most features I personally use. Just today I added a way to find and merge duplicates for example.
Any feedback and feature request are very welcome. Ideally open a new forum thread for each feature if it comes to mind so the community here can collaborate on what it should look like.

we have to see how far we can get there, but overall I guess our need also stems partly from nextcloud not being what we want it to be, while also for such rather basic use-cases there are simply not many projects tackling those areas, since hey are probably too boring and certainly no way to easily monetize those. But for Cloudron such basic tools are kinda relevant.
