Initial port is available at https://git.cloudron.io/cloudron/emby-app. Currently, importing media into the app is not very easy but we are working on a solution for this in the next release.

https://my.<domain.com>/#/appstore/media.emby.coudronapp?version=0.2.0 if anyone wants to install on their cloudron. Please note that this is beta quality at this point.

This has been packaged and is available as an unstable app for now.

The package repository is at https://git.cloudron.io/cloudron/emby-app

@nebulon Is anyone working on Plex as well? Emby is only available for a few TV sets and even then, only in selected countries...

I am only aware of the things discussed at https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/1132/plex-media-server

Emby was already packaged for a long time but so far only used by myself.

    Hello!
@nebulon Should the Emby app appear in my App Store (on my Cloudron) marked as unstable? I cannot find it (I have marked that unstable apps should appear on my App Store).

Hi @gloes indeed it was still marked as unlisted. This has changed now. The app as such does not have any means to upload content, this needs to happen currently via sftp. Also note that with such apps, the volume of data might grow fast, so ensure that the rsync backup backend is set and maybe disable automatic backups for that app and perform them manually when you see need.

Thank you for your tips! I installed it and it works fine.

Do you know how to connect the Emby with the Android app? I tried to connect with my Domain and Port but the connection was not successfull. I tried the following:
    Host: media.mydomain.com
    Port: 8096 and 8920

From the CloudronManifest.json I see the Port 8096, so I guess this one should be used?

You should be able to connect from the Android app just fine using https://media.mydomain.com in the corresponding custom server url field. No further ports or custom api urls, which the android app allows to be set, have to be specified.

@nebulon I wasn't able to connect the emby client for my samsung TV using https://emby.mydomain.com, cause the client doesn't allow you to input "https://"

Is there a way to use ip addresses, ports, or plain http:// to connect to the emby app instead?

This is for the emby client for Samsung E-series smart TVs

Really excited that emby is working in cloudron 😀

I don't have a TV to test this, but Cloudron does not support non-https connection to apps. You have to probably report this upstream with the Samsung TV app (possibly this https://github.com/MediaBrowser/SamsungSmartTV/issues) otherwise reach out through their regular support channels about it https://emby.media/support.html The project is quite active and things get usually resolved quickly.
