Considering a video server for streaming/download...suggestions?
-
Hello everyone,,
Up until now I've been giving my friends access to a folder I shared on my Seafile server, so they can watch and/or download the movies I choose to share. However this is a bit cumbersome for a couple of reasons, Seafile only offers to stream h264/mp4 files, and I need to upload the file to Seafile's own DB, effectively duplicating the storage needs. I'd like to have some sort of similar simple frontend for people to choose video files and be offered to either stream them (I have plenty of upload bandwidth) or download them to their phone/computer. What would you guys recommend? Thanks a lot! -

You might want to consider using something like Nextcloud, uploading the files to a folder and then sharing the folder publicly. this should do what you want with little setup.
